Program Highlights:
The presentation will discuss in two parts as:
1. Smart Waste
Water Management
All commercial building, shopping mall, restaurants, factories, hotels with kitchen for commercial
operations generating wastewater must implement appropriate measures, by using
suitable pre-treatment installations, to ensure that solids and liquids which
can give off toxic and unpleasant vapour and odour are prevented from damaging
construction materials and drainage facilities, harming operations, and are
held back so that they do not enter sewage pipes. This new technology of grease
separator will replace the standard grease trap to a new era of automatic
management of grease separation.
The speaker will bring solutions to help management
office, kitchen owner/developer to manager those grease and kitchen waste
sludge.
2. Circular Economy from Waste to Energy
In order to achieve a truly sustainable future, the
challenges related to waste management must be effectively addressed. Although
the ultimate solution is to reduce waste production at the source, until that
goal is met, it is imperative to keep products within the circular loop before
disposing of them permanently.
To enhance the circular economy, a significant role can
be played by improving and increasing reusability, sorting, and recycling
processes. These processes can contribute to the efficient and sustainable use
of resources. Waste to Energy has been identified as a vital tool in achieving
a transformation to a sustainable energy ecosystem. It is considered an
essential renewable energy source that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions.
During the discussion, the speaker will share their
experience with the implementation of a circular economy in Hong Kong. They
will also focus on the latest bioenergy introduction and development with an
emphasis on repurposing waste to energy in Hong Kong.
