Programme Highlights
Promotion and enhancing STEM Education has been becoming crucial
to address the manpower needs of professionals and para-professionals in
engineering and related industries in Hong Kong. Through STEM Education Centre
established by Vocational Training Council, a collaborative interface between
the key stakeholders – students and teachers, industry partners and
professionals – is created to deliver an inspiring STEM education to the
youngsters. Development and implementation of the activities and collaborations
at the Centre will be covered in this presentation in details.

Ir Dr Eric Liu, Deputy Executive Director, Vocational Training Council
About the Speaker
Ir
Dr Eric Liu is Deputy Executive Director and is primarily responsible for VTC’s
dual‐track training and strategic development of Engineering
and Design Disciplines.
Ir
Dr Liu joined the VTC in 1994 and has since held positions as Principal of Hong
Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tuen Mun) and Principal of Hong Kong Institute
of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). He is currently member of a number of
committees including Executive Committee of Hong Kong Electronics Industry Council
of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Curriculum Development Council
Committee on Technology Education.
Ir
Dr Liu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (The University of
Hong Kong), a Master’s Degree in Industrial Automation (City University of Hong
Kong) and a Doctor of Education Degree (University of Technology, Sydney,
Australia). His professional engineering qualifications/memberships include:
Chartered Engineer (UK), Chartered Professional Engineer (Australia), Fellow of
Engineers Australia (FIEAust), Member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers
(MHKIE), Member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and
Member of Association of Computing Machinery (MACM).
